Our clients came to us with a existing DA for the site, but wanted to consider alternatives to ensure that they were optimising the view to the water as well as natural light and ventilation.  The house also needed to be minimal maintenance and support their ability to live in this house in future, so lifts and wheelchair access needed to be considered.  The design provides a clean and contemporary aesthetic, and a palette of materials that is intended to weather the coastal environment as well as provide warmth and texture.  Inside, the spaces are bright and airy, reflective of a modern coastal aesthetic.  Outdoor areas needed to take in the views across Moreton Bay, but also needed to have control over privacy required from the street and parks
