Base Medical is a multi award winning firm committed to producing only the highest quality of architecture. It was established in 2005, and headed by director Shawn Godwin, it has been recognised for inventive thinking, creative flair and outstanding service.

Base has a highly expert team specialising in the medical fit-out industry. Together, our team has delivered several projects for some of Australia’s most prominent medical providers. We go beyond exterior elements of medical buildings and also offer healthcare interior design for private practices and community clinics. Recently we have completed the design for  Brisbane’s latest and bespoke Radiology facility in Fortitude valley, Brisbane :  a patient focused and cutting edge interior design which included XRAY, PET, CT and MRI and Ultrasound scanning facilities. Additionally, we can also assist with design of dental surgeries.

At Base, we understand that given its functional complexities, specialist medical architecture starts with strategic planning and we should encourage our involvement in the initial planning stage, drawing out what doctors and practice managers have in mind, and accommodate medical staff and patients alike.

We analyze in detail the experience in each area for all end users, so that areas are designed to provide efficient functionality in welcoming, relaxing spaces.

We have extensive knowledge of the DDA (Disability discrimination Act) and can ensure your project complies with current Australian standards, in particular the AS-1428.1 – Design for Access and Mobility.
